The 2008 has an updated engine and ECU from 06-07. I doubt the engine changes made much difference. The 06-07 has secondary valves in the throttle bodies that open slow from idle all the way to 6000 rpm. This is a safety measure to restrict power at low speed. The solution was a TRE or to remove the secondary plates altogether and owners noticed a huge difference in low speed power delivery. The 08 through 11 Gen1s had this restriction reduced a great deal. I removed the flies from my 08 and I couldn't really tell a difference from having them in but 06-07 owners said removing the flies in their bikes was night and day. There's tons of info on here about derestricting the 06-07. If you don't want to fuss with it, I'd suggest the 08 through 11 or go to the Gen2.
